Things I’ve LOVED this week!
I wanted to try and spread a little joy this week. So, here’s a list of things that popped a smile on my face.
Willkommen! Bienvenue! Welcome!
Been a minute since I’ve done a newsletter like this. Things I’ve loved. Nothing shady. Just joy.
Hopefully it’ll give you some good energy and vibes.
I wrote this on my door stoop in the old town here in Ibiza after a nice day at home. The ceiling had fallen in. I was covered in sweat and dust. But I was happy as fuck.
Not gonna let a ceiling collapse get me down ;-)
ENJOY!

WILL WE BE CHANGED FOR GOOD? YEP.
The eagerly awaited trailer for the new Wicked movie has dropped this week. It looks just as magical. And we get the first glimpse of a listen of For Good – the song we all cannot wait for. I’m pumped for the second instalment, and we’ll get to see the film in November. Check it out below. Mega tingles.
I’d like Ariana and Cynthia to open the Oscars next Spring with their interpretation of For Good. Just putting this out there into the world.
GAGA FEELS IN HER PRIME ONCE MORE
I’ve made no secret of the fact I’ve been enjoying Mayhem and all Gaga’s been doing of late. She feels back to her kooky best. This performance for the Netflix TUDUM event was LIT. This Zombieboy and Abracadabra mash up was brilliant fun. Great choreo, amazing weave and Gaga having fun. Into it. Firmly.
MISAN ON TALK ART
I love what Misan Harriman stands for. The truth. His interview with Russell Tovey and Robert Diament for the Talk Art Podcast is brilliantly honest. I love Misan. I love that he’s found his career in such a huge way after years of trying to find his feet and was given such huge opportunities by the likes of Enninful.
This entire interview was very inspiring.
DEPT. Q – I’D LIKE LOTS MORE, PLEASE
I’ve always loved Matthew Goode. Normally a posh boy in everything he does. This time he’s a common as much gritty Detective trying to find his way back to his career after being shot in the neck. Just the right amount of creepiness to the storyline, you care for all the characters (shout out Akram) and despite the episodes being nearly an hour long it feels like the episodes fly. The perfect gritty crime thriller and TBH it’s up there with Slow Horses entertainment wise. Less cheesy in many ways.
I really hope there are more of this…
LOUIS IS SMASHING HIS LATEST SERIES
I love the Theroux. He gets great insight into who his guests are, and this latest series has some real crackers for you to listen too. In particular, his interviews with Bella Ramsey of The Last of Us, Sean Penn and Little Simz are amazing. My only slight criticism, some of the episodes were recorded as far back as last summer. Why? That’s not the way it should be. Keep it current, dear Louis. We can’t be stacking up interviews from that long ago. Just get them out ASAP. That way you can keep it relevant.
Here's the latest interview with Little Simz…
NAKED SWIMMING
I’m just not the person who has ever been particularly comfortable with being naked in the great outdoors. But this week I lowered my barrier.
I was halfway through a hike in a tiny little bay I love here in Ibiza. It was early doors, and I’d had to walk through about 20 spiderwebs on my way down the coastline and dodge a snake before finding myself at the shoreline.
The water looked awesome. So, I whipped off my clothes and dipped into the sea. It was euphoric. Crystal clear, no jellyfish and bright blue skies. I genuinely felt like my body had healed from said experience. I didn’t have much to heal from, but it was exhilarating.
Go find yourself a quiet deserted bay and strip off immediately.
MUSIC VIBES
· Jade (formerly of Little Mix) covers Frozen by Madonna. It’s an OK cover and I like the upbeat finish. But interesting she pulled that track out for a rebirth and assuming Mother Madonna gave permission for the track to be reborn. Innnneresting.
· Talking of Madonna, I’m thrilled with the excitement building about the Veronica Electronica album off the back of Ray Of Light. There have been rumours of this reworking album for decades and it’s finally coming out. The new reworking of Skin dropped this week. Joyous.
· Take a Sexy Picture Of Me, CMAT – this track has been playing on Radio 6 all week. I bloody love it. Feels like this summer’s version of Smile by Lily Allen. Excited to hear more from this artist. Listen to this one below. I adore this one.
AND FINALLY…
I saw this clip on Threads this week. I’ve left X and with Threads I’m kinda enjoying the timelines because it’s not endless politics and doom and gloom.
This just made me think about how we are all one and need to get our shit together once and for all.
Enjoy that? Leave a comment below…and please do share. Makes a big difference to reader numbers.
OH SHIT, ACTUALLY…..FINALLY
Kate Moss and Bobby Gillespie have shot a campaign for Zara. I think for their new ranges for the high street brand. Literally the coolest shoot I’ve seen for ages. Reminds me of my days at Glastonbury watching Kate run around looking cool AF in the rain during the Doherty days.
I vividly remember Kate being bullet-fast when she made her way around the festival. You couldn’t keep up with her. Kate FOREVS.
P.S. I want Bobby’s white suit. Bad.
Love Matthew Goode, YES! Series was great. You look AMAZING. I'm retooling my Substack. Need something to focus on other than the crumbling of the US. xxB.
